Does anyone know if there a moratorium on a past due credit card where it is writing off like in so many years? Are is it never written off? Thanks

The "rule of thumb" is 7-10 years from the date of the last activity.
Are you asking this related to when it can get off your credit report, or related to how long the original creditor - or their agent(s) - can pursue you for it?
Thanks Rick.. 8 years ago our son X wife charged up his credit card in Kauai Hi
He uses another a credit card. How can he find out his credit status? He lives
In Kauai.
It depends on the particular bank that issued the card. Usually there is no moratorium on credit cards. If it goes unpaid then it's refleced on your record as a bad debt.
Here are the sites of the 3 credit reporting agencies. I suggest getting a copy of the report from each:
Equifax
Experian
Trans Union
