Use a 9 volt little square battery like you put in the kids toys. You should know which ones are power and ground. Hold one unknown wire to the battery positive, try each one of the other unknowns until the speaker makes a sound, scratch the second wire across the battery negative, it will make a crackling sound when you hit the right set of wires. Twist them together and you have a pair.

Just saw this old Post, but have info that can help.
1.5 volt can be plenty, scratch the battery connection and you can hear through the speakers as mentioned. Do no keep connected any length of time.
If you connect the positive to 1 wire an the negative to another wire and the voice coil pushes out, + is positive, - is negative, just be sure all are in phase as it is ac to the speaker.

I personally turn the key on, and find Ignition voltage, battery voltage, ground, then with those eliminated, A Tone Generator(maybe 20 - $30 on Ebay) and when hooked up to a speaker pair, you will hear the tone out of the speaker. They are the fastest for determining speaker pairs.
Many vehicles may have an amplifier or something between the speaker wiring at the radio and the speaker(it may be in the trunk, inder the seat or somewhere, if so, you may want to bypass it.
