My 13 yr old son has just developed two blonde spots on the back of his head. His hair color is brown. Is the something that can happened during puberty?

I'm curious to know where my post on this subject went.

Not sure. When I went to go see what you said it was blank. Any thoughts??

Hi, I was just looking around the site and noticed your question (even though it's from Nov 07). I met my husband when he was 16 years old. He had these two light blond patches at the back of his head, the rest of his hair was dark blond. Now that he's 37 years old, those two light blond patches are now white while the rest of his hair is still his dark blond shade. For some reason the pigment in these areas lost some colour and kept doing so gradually to become the only white hair he has on his head. People ask him if he leaned against a painted wall.
The good thing is I can spot him in a crowd pretty easy XD

I had a friend in high school that this happened and sadly by the time they were 18, their hair was 90 percent white. Not saying this will happen to him, but I would start with a trip to your doctor.
