    Furnace on and off
Hi, I have a Rheem - RGLE-06ELAES and it is about 15 years old. I couldn't find a manual for it, so if anybody has an online link to that, it is much appreciated. Anyway the gas furnace continues to turn on and off. I have checked the thermostat and that is not the problem. I just replaced the limit switch. And the filter are clean? Does anybody have any suggestions before I have to call for service?

    MUCH APPRECIATED! :):D

There could be a number of different things causing this problem. What is coming on when it calls for heat? Does the fan come on? How long does it stay on before it shuts off?
    Possibilities :
Bad fan motor, Bad capacitor, flame sensor corroded or bad, heat anticipator in thermostat not set properly,If it has a vent inducer it could be the pressure switch or motor, Could also be dirty burners and flame not contacting flame sensor.

Hi acetc, thanks for your response. Uhm, I manually started the furnace without the thermostat, so I have basically ruled out those issues. The burners ignite and I hear the blower fan going for about 1-2 minutes, it shuts off for a couple of minutes and repeats. I recently cleaned the fan motor, I will take a look at the flame sensor and burners tomorrow to see if that helps any. Capacitor, and pressure switch? I will have to spend a little more time on but will try to see if I can see if there is damage there. Thanks

You may have an adjustable fan control , this would be in the center of the furnace, about 3" x 4" , remove cover and there will be a round dial , this is the temperature fan comes on at and fan shuts off at. Settings should be about 105 off and 135 on, this switch was on the older furnaces, Good luck, Mike
