    Computer freezes
    If anyone out there knows why my computer keeps freezing let me know. It freezes after windows finishes loading. If I move the mouse onto any icon or to open any window it freezes. If I just leave the mouse on the screen and don't touch anything it won't freeze I need help.

    What version of Windows? Have you performed standard maintenance?

    I have windows xp. My computer is a netvista 2276

    Have you done any regular maintenance? Defrag? Chkdsk? Anitvirus scans, Etc?

    Yes I have. But now I can't do anything. Every time I touch an icon or go to open a program it freezes and reboots

    Try rebooting in safe mode and trying to restore to an earlier restore point.

    Check your startup programs and remove them which your not in need of

    I can go to safe mode but it freezes in safe mode. But now I can't do anything. Every time I touch an icon or go to open a program it freezes and reboots

    Boot to your XP CD and run the Repair option

    When you logon insert your windows xp cd and type "sfc /scannow"(without quotes)
    In run dialog box it will restore all system file(only)

    Umm, he said it freezes as soon as he tries to do anything. So it doesn't sound like that advise will work.
