Latch system? Can you please get a little more detailed? Do you mean where you can control it so that the doors do not open from the inside?

No I'm talking about the latch syster or tether not sure what everyone calls it but it to connect the carseat without using the seatbelt..

Some vehicles have them yet others don't. I have a 5-point harness seat for my youngster and the latch is above the backseat (I drive a 2006 Ford Five Hundred), in between the seat and the back there are two little bars where the carseat attaches directly to the frame of the vehicle.

You do still need to use the seat belt though. It provides much more protection.

I will use the seat belt too but I was reading a lot of stories about the seat belt uncliping durning a accident then the baby gets hurt so I wanted to use both so just in case that ever happened thanks a lot I will check for it

Yeah, that's what I do too. I don't know that a jeep cherokee would have this though as the tether behind the seat clips into the frame of the vehicle also. That tether is above the seat, below the back window, in MY car.

You could try calling your local Jeep dealer.
