    Offset Handle Puller
I need to pull the handles on a pair of built-in sink faucets.

I already have a garden-variety handle puller- but there is not enough room above the faucet to hook up the puller.

Is there an "offset" puller available? The puller version of an offset screwdriver?

As it turns out, I guess the whole hot valve/cold valve/spout assembly can be removed by removing two nuts on the hot and cold water supply lines. Absent a specialized tool, I guess I'm just going to have to pull the whole assembly.

'Seems like a lot of work to fix a leaking faucet. Are there any gotchas for an ignorant do-it-yourselfer when I go to reinstall the assembly? What, if anything, should I use under the nuts? Teflon tape? Some kind of pipe dope?

Some kind of pipe dope on the bevel of the ground joint.
