:confused: I met a man about 8 months ago and it has not been the smoothest of rides. We have split up a couple of times but he always phones or turns up at mine. There is a very strong bond between us that seems to pull us together. Last month I bought him a little card and hid it in the cover of what I thought was a book to do with work, on the inside cover there was a post it note with a recent date stating his love for his ex. The book turned out to be a diary of sorts and I am ashamed to say that I read it. It declared his love for this girl quite a few times but not one mention of me. I was heartbroken and left him but he called me saying he was resigned to the fact that it would not work with her and that it was me he wanted and loved. He said he had not spoken to her since last March. I took him back only to discover that he keeps her picture on his desk at work and refuses to take it down. I have met all his family and he has proposed marriage, he is 48 and never married before. He was with this other girl for 5 months and broke up nearly 2 years ago. I am so confused as to whom he really loves, please help me sort this out.

I really think that he loves her, the picture thing is a big proof for his love for her. I think u can find better. What would he do if he married you? Would he still have that picture on his desk? I don't think u should be with him unless he gives her up in every way. He needs to move on with his life and be with u. You seem like a nice patient person who really have love for him. So think about it.

Thank you Queen0804 for replying, I have swung from one thing to the other all day today, should I bide my time or finish with him. I know in my heart you are right, he doesn't love me completely and I could never be sure of him now so I guess it's goodbye. The biggest problem I have now is to stop him contacting me until I feel stronger, he is very tactile and I will miss that so much.

Why can't people be truthful with each other from the start, it would save so much pain.
