    Blower not working right
Recently my blower on my furnace quite working. Worked fine all summer with A/C. I have an older model furnace that has the "On and AUTO". There has been no loud noises prior too, or no burning smell that may be associated with a failing motor. When I was looking at it I tapped the blower housing then it kicked on, and worked for a while properly (day, day and a half). Recently did the same thing, tapped it again worked only for a couple hours. Not knowing much about furnaces I am thinking it is probably a bad relay. Any thoughts?

Here is a temporary cure. Tap on it until it starts running and move the stat switch to ON. It should keep running and your home will actually feel a bit more comfortable. The electric cost of running 24/7 are barely negligible. Now the actual fix may been the motor itself. There are usually two sets of winding in a motor, one for running and another for start up from a dead stop. I think you may have a dead spot in your start up winding. Running 24/7 may help you avoid replacement cost. You may want to consider it.
