Are you sure? What if you are incorrect in giving out this information? Are you a pharmacist?

I'm not sure that you are correct.

I am sympathetic towards you. However, I am sure that you understand the ramifications of people handing out incorrect information on a site such as this concerning medications.

There is an enormous responsibility that must be held and shared by people answering questions about medications of any kind on this site in order for us to be responsible for not just ourselves but also others. We can't afford the risk of being incorrect concerning the identity of medications. There is too much at stake here!

Waxbead is absolutely correct. MS Contin is a brand name of Morphine which is an opioid analgesic (page 693 of the 2007 Mosby's Nursing Drug Reference) and Oxycontin is a brand name of Oxycodone, which is also an opioid analgesic (page 759 of the 200& Mosby's Nursing Drug Reference).

So, in answer to the OPs question... No they are not the same, but work in the same manner.
