I have a Toshiba 55" Theaterview Television that is approx. 5-6 yrs old. Suddenly out of the blue(no pun intended) it has no color. Picture and sound quality are same, just shows black and white only. Have tried 'reset' in the menu options with no luck. Am I missing something really easy and simple, or is this an expensive fix? Any help would be great, because my children don't understand that all TV's used to be black and white and that color TV used to be a luxury item... lol

I would remove all power from wall of TV, or tuner related for maybe 30 seconds and turn back on. Some times if tuning not at 100%(off frequency) color will go to black and white.
It may be worse.

Thanks for the idea, hopefully that will work. I will try it. Didn't occur to me to just shut it down... sometimes the most obvious can be the hardest to see.

I tried this but it does not work. When I turn off the TV and turn it back on, I have color for 1 or 2 seconds and then it turns black and white and instead of the sound, I hear a hissing noise -

Miracle. I fidgeted with the remote, pressed a button - can't remember which one, got a menu that said: Programme: wait - it did it's thing and my TV is now perfect - better than before... Go figure.
