Sautering filler for brass to copper
Note sure if this is the right forum... my husband is in construction at work right now and they have asked me to find out how to sauter 2" copper to 2" brass? Is this possible... if so how? :D

    Thanks for any input.

    CORRECTION:

What material do you use to fill in when sautering copper to brass? Is it brazing rod? Silver sauter? etc.

Hope I asked it properly now.

    Thanks

    Hi Mindy,

"What material do you use to fill in when sautering copper to brass? Is it brazing rod? silver sauter? etc."

In plumbing we use wire solder and a acid based flux called No-Corode. We first shine the two pieces with plumbers sandcloth. We then paint the surfaces to be soldered with a acid based flux. Then we apply heat to the largest fitting until the solder starts to melt. We then run the wire solder around the two joints where it is pulled in by capillary action. When the joint will accept no more solder we let it cool and set up. Is this what you wished to know? Tom
