My mom is very sick, and I don't know what it is
    Hello all,

My mother is allergic to mold, tomatoes, and chocolate, and lately she has been very sick.

Symptoms such as feeling vomiting, and then vomiting

Dizziness (feels like the room is spinning)

Not being able to stand up (loss of energy)

We went Macaroni Grill the other night and she ate shrimp, and she was fine until she got home. But she has eaten shrimp before and has been fine.

Does anyone have any ideas of what might be causing this?

Is this a type of flu virus or something?

Argh completely lost my post grr...

Fr_Chuck is right, if you think it could be allergy related get her to the docs asap.
Also it is difficult to say what something is over the internet, you can't see the person and you might miss describing something a medical professional would pick up quickly.

Saying that it does sound like labyrinthitis/ vestibular nephritus to me. It is an infection of the inner ear which causes loss of balance/ vertigo (spinning,) vomiting and tiredness as the body tries to figure out what's going on. It is a horrible thing to get but is not that detrimental health wise.

Hope you can get her to the doctors to figure out what's going on. Best of luck to you and your mother :)

Allergies with shellfish (shrimp) usually produce anaphylactic shock and the person can be dead within minutes. However, to me it sounds as though she may have a case of food poisoning. I will reiterate what was said above though. We cannot diagnose over the internet. She needs medical attention.

Please get her to the ER.
