    Sudden pressure drop whole house
    Hi there:

My sister in law has had a sudden water pressure drop in her entire house and the water dept has come out and said her pressure to the house is fine. The water in her faucets comes out normal at first but in seconds is reduced to virtually a trickle. She has two water heaters and her house is about 20 years old. This happened suddenly and doesn't make any sense. Any suggestions? She's frustrated and so am I.
Thanks for any help you can lend.

It does make sense. It's just hard to track down. Most likely cause is debris in the lines, so let's ask a few questions?

    Hot? Cold? Both?

Locate the tap furthest away from where water enters into the house. Does it happen there?

Locate the tap closest to where water enters the house. Does it happen there?

When it's happening at one tap, is it happening at the other?

If it's the cold water, don't forget to include the outside taps in the list.
