Fashion Label - Model/Photo/Talent Agency BP
    Dear Helper,

RE: Fashion Label - Model/Photo/Talent Agency BP

This request is for two areas;-
    (1) Business Plan for a Fashion Label
    (2) BP for Model/Photo/Talent Agency.

I have several family members who are in the Fashion Industry and would like to start a Fashion Label. I am providing the finances but asking my family to put together a business plan, which is proving more challenging than initially thought. Successful fashion designers do not necessarily equate to good business minds. I have found the internet and book searches sadly lacking in this area.

If you have any experience in this arena and/or could indicate a website or books I can review it would be greatly appreciated.

Also, I have a similar problem is finding adequate information in the arena of a Model Agency/Photographic Studio/Talent Agency. Information within this industry tends to be in picture format... lol. If anyone has a copy of a BP or sites I can view with areas of concern and consideration - please let me know

Thanks for your time and efforts

    Best regards

    Alex

By "Fashion Label," do you mean a unique brand of clothing that you would have manufactured and then sell to the public?

Have you tried either of these two sites for example of business plans? http://www.sba.gov/ and SCORE "Counselors to America's Small Business"

You might find one on either site that is kind of like what you want, and then taylor it to fit your needs.

    To Clough,

Thank you for your response. In reply - yes. It will be clothes prepared/designed for the public.

However, in terms of your suggestion - the traditional routes (especially government supported agencies tend to be very non-specific & bureaucracy driven). They seem to know a lot about the forms/banking/structures/legal etc. But nothing about specific markets like these.

SBR - the site you quoted;- SBA - Office of Technology - SBIR/STTR - What's New?
The Office of Technology helps to strengthen and expand the competitiveness of U. S. small high technology research and development businesses in the federal marketplace. We assist in achieving the commercialization of the results of both the federal research and development programs mandated by the Small Business Innovation Development Act of 1982, the Small Business Research and Development Enhancement Act of 1992, and the Small Business Innovation Research Program Reauthorization Act of 2000.

The real answers to questions like, what are typical hurdles I will face in the fashion market, what are essential to do and have prepared prior to opening the doors?
In this case, do I need to prepare suppliers/personnel and the clothes line first? Or get designers/office spaces etc. How do I qualify quality & identify prime markets.

Basically a tick list of things to do - in some form of intelligent order would be ideal.

Thanks for your time - and help

    Regards

    Alex

I think that you are just looking at others to provide the answers to your homework questions for you. Please see the following link.

Like I have already mentioned in my first answer, you could be checking out the two sites that I had provided and looked for business plans, find one that looks similar to what you might want and the tailor it to fit your needs.

It's already obvious from the other thread that you started, that you already know how to put together a "tick" list of things to do.
