Mirena expired, could I be pregnant?
I have had the Mirena IUD in for almost 6 years exactly (1 year past expiration, I know). In this instance, with the Mirena expired, would it still be possible for me to get pregnant? I have been exceptionally tired lately, and my breasts really hurt. I already have 3 children so I should know the symptoms, but with the IUD I am not sure whether to be concerned or not.  :(

Oh, I also am pretty sure I have a yeast infection, which I always get with pregnancy. Not that that means anything, but I am trying to give all pertinent information.

Understand that it is possible to get pregnant with any form of birth control. I would say that since your IUD has expired it is highly possible that you are. You should get in to the doctor asap to have it removed in case you are indeed pregnant!

One more thing I forgot to mention. Luckily, I haven't had a period since the month after I got the Mirena put in. That is GREAT for me, but lousy for diagnosing possible pregnancy.

Yup, it is. Make a doctor appointment on Monday.

    Mystery solved! (?)
Sorry, but I didn't have transport earlier, and I was freaking! I went and got a home test... it came back negative! WHEW!
