My upstairs neighbor is so loud. Hardwood floors, she walks like an elephant and not to mention she has a pitbull running around, barking, and fetching a ball upstairs which bounces along our entire bedroom ceiling. She is only a renting tenant, where as my fiancé owns the place we live in. When she takes her dog out she opens her upstairs door and lets the dog run down the stairs to the landing (where our door is) then she goes down the stairs after her dog to leash it and take it outside. So basically it is just hanging in front of our door unleashed. No Dogs Are Allowed in Any of the units. She also never locks the main door to get into the units, which is very also very inconsiderate. How are we to solve this? It's so frustrating at times!! :mad:

I would talk directly to her. If this does not bring results, go to the landlord or Homeowner Association... if you have one there.

IF no dogs are allowed, the landlord can give her a notice that she is in default of the lease agreement. And if the dog does not go, she will be evicted.

My solution is going to be even MORE frustrating for you, I'm afraid.

The landlord needs to have the tenant comply or he needs to evict her. The problem is that YOU have no leverage over the owner/landlord. Your condominium HOA, however, does.

You need to get THEM, to get the landlord, to get the tenant to obey the rules. Good luck with that (snicker, snicker). If you gather from the above, that I have little faith in HOA's doing the right thing, you're right.

I would agree to go to BOTH the HOA and the Landlord..

It also depends on the law of the land and your location. Even if it states in a lease that no animals are allowed does not mean that by law the landlord can demand for the animal to be removed. All you can do is put in a complaint but like I said does not mean anything can be done about it.
