Honda civic 1995 heating system failure?
    Hi there!

My civic glacier 1343cc making all sorts of noises :(

*The temp gauge has also stopped working
*The fan heaters aren't warming up
*The fan heater on passenger side has started to make a racket
*Exhaust fumes come into car when heaters are on and car sat idle?
*Strange loud tinkering noise coming from below the fanbelt
    *revs really low when idle

Yes there is quite a bit happening to my car at present and I need to get it sorted asap as it bloody freezing and most of the problems are to do with the heating.

Could it be that the temp valve has frozen?

    Mant Thanks Leanne x

    What's the temperature outside?

It may be so cold where you live that it is causing all sorts or problems. The bearings in the heater motor may be affected and they are letting you know that. If you can get to them, lubricate the heater motor bearings with synthetic oil, which works much better in cold climates than conventional oil. Try setting the control to recirculate, which may prevent fumes from being sucked in. Ensure you have the proper antifreeze/distilled water ratio, for the lowest temperature you expect this winter. Only use distilled water with antifreeze; otherwise, mineral deposits can develop, over time, and block the radiator and heater core. If you are not getting any heat, the problem may be heater core blockage, a problem with the control valve, or a linkage issue. The noise below the fanbelt may be the alternator bearings also don't like the cold.

    Is this your situation?
