When switching my fans into reverse direction, they try but will not go. Is there a simple a simple solution?

Let's assume your talking about ceiling fans. The reverising switches probably need replacing.

BTW: Have you tried to reverse the fans without turning if off first?

Are these remote fans? Where is the reverse button?

I don't remember the brand of the fans. They do not have remotes. They do have switches just below the motor where the light are attached.

Does it reverse with a pullchain, or a little black switch? Are the speeds controlled with a pullchain, a dial, or both?

It is PROBABLY a loose wire or the reverse switch that is bad.
