I have a 02 dodge 1500 4.7 v8 when using the heater the driver side blows cold and the passenger side blows hot any suggestions on why that is

Without hands on, diag is only a guess.
I'd guess that your truck is equipped with Dual-Zone HVAC. One of the acuators that moves the blend doors has failed or has become stuck
-or-
The temp sensor that commands that door is open or out of range and not properly commanding the doors properly.
