Like Fr. Chuck stated, maybe he did not know the item did not work or was duped. If he did know the item did not work and bought it anyway, I would seriously consider a new boyfriend. Because if the latter is true, he has some passive-aggressive tendencies.

But he asked me to send the item back to him so he can fix it. And still its not working.

Then he buys you one that works. Plain and simple, OR sends you the money and you go and buy the item, in working order.
