I rent in Florida and my lease says the rent is late after the 2nd day and I heard that the state of Florida has a 5 day grace period. Is this correct ? Or does the way the lease written overpower any such law if any?

You heard wrong. There is NO law. IF your landlord is giving you a grace period, I'd be really thankful.
