Fans with a mind of their own.
Hello I recently purchased 2 hampton bay ceiling fans with remotes. Both fans turn on and off by itself. Does anyone have an explanation as to why this is?all wiring is correct except for one red wire which was not used.

Try changing one of the dip switches in both the receiver and the remote. I think you are picking up errant RF signals, that or your kid is messing with your head. Did not use the red, what was installed in this location before the fans and what were the colors of the wires?
