About a month ago I had my hair stripped from a jet black to a reddy colour costing £45 from the hairdressers. The next day I went out and bought some semi brown hair dye and it went almost black again, its now lightened to about lightish darkish brown :confused:

Basically I am going on holiday to Kenya in a few weeks for Christmas, and am taking this as a perfect time to try and get my hair light brown, ready for me taking it up to blonde some time next year. I've heard Sun In has some really good results when lightening hair in the sun, but also some pretty bad ones. Will it help to lighten my hair and is there a certain type I have to have?

My hair is naturally mid brown and about shoulder length.

My advice with regards to Sun-In is don't do it. My hair is light brown naturally and at first the color was good - then it turned orange.
