    Removeing a tub drain
I will be removing my tub and installing a shower base. How do I remove the drain from the tub. Do I need a special tool? And does the shower base drain go in the same way the tub drain came out. Thanks.

There are tools that will fit in the cross of a tub drain but I take a pair of pliers
And jam the handles down between the cross. Then using a screwdriver for a lever I unscrew the drain counter clockwise.

The shower roughs in a little different then a tub. The trap is still under ground but has a 2" raiser extending 2 or 3 " above the floor directly under where the shower base drain will set. Good luck, tom
