    Water Clean Up Cost
My water heater gave out and poured at least an inch and a half of water on our partial basement floor. I have been trying to get a guestimate as to the cost range to have water vacuumed up and fanned out. I am trying to decide if I want to use my insurance but wanted to know if I was wasting my time as my deductible is 1000.00.

    Thanks

I would Take that $1000.00 and buy a pump, and a Fan.
If subject to flooding, I would have a sump or low area. May have to cut through concrete.
    Find the lowest area.

Buy a good size Wet/Dry vacuum and rent the fan and a large floor squeegee from a local rental shop.

A good Wet/Dry vacuum is always handy to have around anyway -- And the combined cost of the purchase, tool rentals and your own sweat equity is going to be far less than a grand.

Both posters gave you good advice. If the floor was carpet through out the padding but the carpet can be shampooed and dryed. What were your wall made of? Could be mold behind them.

Thanks, I have purchased the supplies myself. The side that was mostly covered does not have drywall up. I think I am in good shape.

    Thanks for the advice,
