9/11 Firefighters and Family Members Plot Anti-Giuliani Ad Campaign
ABC News: 9/11 Firefighters Plot Anti-Giuliani Ads

    Quote:

A group of 9/11 firefighters and victims' family members with eyes on derailing Republican Rudy Giuliani's presidential campaign is close to a decision on forming an entity that would run issue ads in key early nominating states.
"TV made him a hero, and we'll use TV to take him down," New York Fire Chief Jim Riches told ABC News.
So if Rudy is a tool and Hillary is a socialist who's left for the media to push onto the public?

These union leaders do not represent the bulk of the FDNY rank and file. The fact is that Rudy had a tough negotiation with them and they never forgave him for that. So they make a lot of non-issues that amount to second guessing about where Rudy put the emergency command center and about radio purchases for the FDNY. This is just an attempt to tarnish his image as a competent leader during and after the 9-11 attacks.

    NK,

As of a couple of weeks ago it was Obama. I didn't realize the media was or had any intention of pushing Rudy. Of course none of this may matter now that Huckabee is surging and has the endorsement of Chuck Norris and has tapped him to secure the borders. :D

Tom, isn't Riches a 'deputy' fire chief? That little ABC snippet makes him sound like he's the top dog. Riches was in the International Association of Fire Fighters anti-Rudy video, a group that "has endorsed Connecticut Sen. Chris Dodd's 2008 presidential campaign and supported Sen. Kerry in 2004" according to page two of the article.

The IAFF has been in the hip pocket of every Democrat nominee for years. President of IAFF Schaitberger was the national co-chair of the Kerry for President Committee and the most important non-politician in the Kerry leadership. Hillary and Harold Schaitberger are good friends and have shared the podium during many political events . Schaitberger admitted in 2004 that the union was endorsing Kerry even though the rank and file majority identified itself as Republican. 83 percent of the $1.8 million it spent in 2002 went to Democrats.
