    Squeaky Maytag Dryer
I read the "applguy" post regarding the squeaky Frigidaire dryer (4/17/06) with great hope. My maytag dryer (model#LDE4914ACE) has this exact high pitched squeaking problem. However, after trying to find a comparable "rear drum bearing kit" for my dryer I have come up empty handed. Does anyone know what parts I should replace? Am I wrong to assume the same part is failing on my dryer?

    Thanks!

The tumbler bearing is available at Welcome to the Parts Store. I checked. Diagrams too.

Thanks KISS! Now the dryer is making a rhythmic thumping noise when not making a rhythmic squeaking noise. Does it still sound like the tumbler is failing?

    Thanks!

It could very well be. You might try disconnecting the belt and using a setting of air, to rull out any other potential squeaks. The low frequency repetition would tend to indicate something intimately related to the drum rotation.

If you can get to the rear bearing, you might try a little 3 in one oil to see if it quiets down.

Thanks again KISS! I'll try that out.
