    Water leak
I have a leak under my carpet? How do I find out where it is coming from? It is in the living room along the wall-- about 2 inches from the wall - along the wall is not wet... on the other side of the wall is the laundry--- no water leaking visible in the laundry... can you help?

Let's check for a running leak. If you have a pump shut it down and watch the preswsure gage. If it drops you have a leak. If on a water meter do not run any water and go out and check the little pointer. It shouldn't move. Are you on a slab? If so you will have to call in a leak detection service to pinpoint the leak. Water, like electricity, will seek the path of least resistance. This means that the wet spot can be in one room but the leak's in another. We use Sleuth to locate the leaks in our area. They come in, locate the leak and break up the slab, bag the dirt and uncover the leak for the plumber to repair. Sorry I couldn't give you a easy repair but you must take care of this at once. Good luck, Tom
