    Financial support for my kids!
I'm a single Mom that gets very little child support for my two children. We never went to court because the father said "that as adults we should be able to figure out on our own what I should fairly pay to help with the boys financially." The father makes around $750,000 per year but pays $800 per month to help with the 2 boys that we have together. I'm really fed up with this... He sees them anytime he wants to but doesn't help support them the way I need help. I take care of these boys 95% of the time and they live with me full time. How do I go about gaining some financial help without going through the court system to get this changed? Any advise or help would be appreciated.

If you can't negotiate with him, you say his yearly income is $750,000. then you have to go through the courts to get it done.

He is not paying enough at 800/ per month for two boys growing up.

First of course he does not want to go to court, why in the heck are you listening to anything he has to say, he is saynig that to cheat you, no adults get it in writing, in court, and get the courts to keep proper records of it, that is what real adults do, men who are childish, cheat their kids and make you think it is your fault.

Well it's pretty obvious what you need to do.
You need to go down to your local child support office and fill out the papers to start a child support order... period.

Have you talked to him about the amount he pays since the original plan of $800? Does he realize what it takes to raise his children?
If you have not sat down to talk to him about this - then I would do that - letting him know that you will have no other choice but to go through the courts if he doesn't cooperate or come to some sort of compromise.

What do you think is fair? Just to let you know - I live in Ohio and there was a time when I was considering divorce. We have one child and my husband would have been ordered to pay more than what your ex pays and he doesn't make anything near what your ex makes. (just under 6 figures)

I'm wondering if you are legally divorced. I find it highly unlikely that a divorce court would let the issue of child support go unaddressed.

Did you have an attorney representing you in the divorce?

I would do some research into the formula for child support in your state. I would then go to the manipulative cheapskate and tell him the court will grant you x dollars per month. Either he ups the support or you take him to court.

She may have never been married... she never mentioned marriage or divorce.
This may just be a single mom that was never married but had 2 kids with her partner.

But I TOTALLY agree, she needs to confront the "manipulative cheapskate" :D
