I found out today that my accounts ( check, savings) were taken and a collection agency is responsible. I never been to court or received anything in mail about a date or hearing or judgement. They took everything and even charge me a fee on both accounts for taking my money. Is this legal?. The firm is in NY and I live in Pa. I tried calling the number my bank gave me but all I get is a recording to leave a message but I can't get through my name when the machine loops back to the beginning. I have a negative bal of 6000. I don't even have a owed bill that high. My recent credit report dated 11/7/07 does not have anything higher than 505.00... and no judgment listed. Please advise if this is legal.

They need a judgment, I'm pretty sure. Go talk to your bank and you'll probably have to get a lawyer to fight them eventually.
