    Grow tall?
    Hi!
My boyfriend is about 5 feet 7 inches. He's 17. No one in his family is really tall but he has all the features of tallness (long fingures, broad shoulders etc). Is it possible that he will grow tall anyway? I mean, does tallness depend on genes? I'm around the same height and the problem is that every time I wear heels, I end up looking way taller than him... and I feel very awkward.
Also, I've heard that boys suddenly shoot up. Is this true?

Height is primarily determined by genetics. If both parents are short, he probably won't get much taller, however, if he has a taller person somewhere in his background it is still possible.

Yes, boys can shoot up quickly around this age up to about age 19, so it's still possible.

It's possible he will grow a little taller, but I wouldn't bank on him to shoot up half a foot or anything at 17, since his family isn't terrible tall, as genetics do play a large part, yes.

And just out of curiosity... iv heard skipping makes people grow taller and weight lifting hampers vertical growth... is this a fact?

I really think that those are just myths or old wive's tales..

Why is your boyfriend being taller so important? Love him for who he is! =)

I wouldn't worry about being taller. My boyfriend is right at 6'0 and I am 5'11, so when I wear my heels, I am way taller. My guy likes the fact that I look great in my heels, he is happy to be seen with me taller or shorter. You may feel awkward, but trust me it is not a big deal.

    Wear your heels!

Yep, my boyfriend and I are about the same height when I wear heels, but I don't care if he's taller than me or not, if he still looks nice and we're having fun, both of us are happy.

Confession: my dad's got great expectations out of my boyfriends. And I'm sure he'll be v disappointed if he gets to know I'm dating a 'short guy' because he has this weird thing for tall people...

Your dad needs to get over it, who you date is up to you, don't worry about him.
