    Accelerator for far better speed
I see the ads about an accelerator that will make my computer run up to 300 times faster. How is this possible? Are there some accelerators that are much better than others or is it all a scam? Thanks Kentucky Nick

If you are referring to web accelerators, they do work, but by proxying your connection.
So for a dynamic site, such as this, they are next to useless as it is continually updated.
You'd be better off saving your money and invest in a faster connection instead.

If on the other hand you're referring to hardware accelerators that speed up your computer's overall performance, they work by overclocking the CPU. Does it work? Yeah. But if you don't do it just right, you can blow out components and find yourself in the market for a new PC. Even if you do it correctly, it will very likely reduce the useful lifespan of your PC which may or may not be a consideration for you. Google "overclocking" if you want to explore this option further.
