Lead wire length on ceiling fan.
I purchased a Harbor Breeze Lakeside II ceiling fan, 52" blades and says it has 54" lead wire. Need to mount with at least a 2' downrod which I also purchased. The contractor says it only has 18" of wire. Is it possible there is more wire within that needs to be pulled out?

Mystery solved. The website for Lowe's said it had a 54" lead wire. I called the company that makes them and they said I got last year's model that only had an 18" lead wire!

Lead wires can always be replaced or extended. You can also splice them, although I don't prefer that option.
