Yes, it can. Music can set the mood. Why play love songs on a dinner date? It has something to do with ambience, right? Why go for mushy ones during break up. Same thing there. I personally love playing R & B music before dates to make me feel sexy.

    Hello Im Johnny Cash
Punk rock isn't really supposed to make you depressed. Its supposed to make you angry, or in the case of poppier punk like Screeching Weasel, The Ramones, or The Buzzcocks, its just for fun. ;)

    Hi,
The greatest danger in this type of music, as well as other types, is the damage to the ear drums. LOUD music of any kind, especially through speakers that cover both ears, for private listening, if too loud, can permanently damage ear drums, with significant hearing loss.
Many National News Networks are now reporting this. Many of the sounds have very, very high decibel levels, such as listening to very loud noises without hearing protection.
    Best of luck.

    Play that funky music!
Music is the expression of ones self! It can always affect our moods to the degree that sometimes we are what we listen to.Just because we don't always agree with everybody else's choice in what we like, it does affect our mood to some extent,When I need a kick-THE Isley bros and Ernest on guitar is what I go for , but we are all entitled to our own choices! :)

    Depressed
Personally if you want depressing, country music, someone is always cheating on their wife, losing thieir dog or getting drunk.

But different music can make anyone feel certain ways. My wife who passed away had a favorite song, the first one we danced to, I would still cry when I hear it.

Music done correctly touches us deeply in varoius ways, depression is one, not the one they normally want, but it can happen
