    Can I put banana pudding into a metal container?
    I am trying to get a dinner ready for 30 people for tomorrow. I'm doing a huge banana pudding, but I only have those aluminum disposable trays to work with.

    Can I put the banana pudding in there and will it be OK? Like it won't react or whatever? :confused:

    I've only ever used plastic and glass to serve...

    If that's really all you have, line the pan with plastic wrap or wax paper. There probably WON'T be a reaction, since those disposable pans are aluminum, not heavy metal, but to be on the safe side, give it a liner.

    If you are doing this for a work function, I would say you will be fine since it will probably disappear really fast anyway, I would not store it in the pans if there are left overs.

    Hi, sorry for the lack of resolution on this one, but I ended up calling a catering pal and she told me it was fine.

    I put the banana pudding straight into the disposable aluminum pans, closed them up with their pinch & seal lidding, and served it up at the dinner that day.

    It turned out fine---no bleeding, no discoloration, no leftovers, lol!

    You know what is funny? They sell aluminum lasagne pans and the acid from the tomatoes sometimes eats through the foil.

    My ex did that it didn't taste so good it might have the metal taste on it

    I would have been pretty concerned, had the banana pudding had to have set in there for more than 24 hours... but this was less than that, and it worked out fine!

    Again---I wouldn't push it farther than a 24 hour period, but less than that it works just fine.
