    Sam streeter
Jim Woolly from the Law ofc of Sam Streeter in Houston, TX pretty much tricked me in to leaving my job and coming to his company as a collections manager promising me $40k yr base sal. Although I received nothing in writing, the HR rep showed me how much I was to make biweekly. Upon termination of my employment I was paid at a rate of $12hr. I was hired as a salary employee (manager)thus I never punched a clock as did the hrly employees (collectors). Question is do I have a legal leg to stand on when I file in small claims court for the unpaid $600?

I don't know about your situation, but people from the law offices of "richard clarke" (They lied to me, I looked up the number and it's sam streeter) harass me about a debt that isn't mine, they are looking for someone else but will not leave me alone, even though I asked them to stop calling. They are a scumbag firm with little experience in what they do basically and I'm not surprised they treat their employees poorly too, as they ar about profit, and they will do any sleazy thing to get it. I don't know if you have " a legal leg to stand on" without the agreement in writing, but if you do decide to pursue the small claims issue, I hope you win and you can tell them that the people they harass who aren't even the right people think they are scum too.(I owe not one red cent to any person in this world right now and they keep calling MY PHONE for someone else, and won't stop, even after I told them to, I might have to seek legal action to stop the harassment)

Without proof I doubt if you can claim anything.

I'd be interested in how long you worked - how many weeks were you paid the wrong amount, how many wrong paychecks, and why were you terminated?

Both questions could enter into a decision -

    Hello j:

I think you should hire a collection agency to collect from that collection agency.

Sam Streeter has never been a franchisee for Collect America or any other company. He never worked in Denver in any capacity and is not licensed in CO. He worked for the Houston franchisee for a brief time. His work for them ended over two years ago. The franchisee , unknown to Mr. Streeter, had hired him only to use his name and law license to operate his franchise. He was to manage the telephone operators and make court appearances. His attempts to have the people under him adhere to proper procedures caused problems with Collect America.

Mr. Streeter did not participate in any of these scams described. In fact the franchisee withheld his pay when Mr. Streeter did not force the phone collectors to operate as directed by the franchisee. Mr. Streeter was used as unscrupulously as the victims by Collect America. He would appreciate your help in removing incorrect information from your site. He has been hurt by Collect America by the use of his name and by remaining unpaid for much of the amounts promised him. His attempts to stop these illegal practices by the franchisee resulted in his leaving the company. Thank you for your help.
