Does anyone have an idea what I can safely use to temporarily provide heat while showering without having to turn up the heat in the entire house? Thanks for any tips.

I replaced my bath exhaust fan with a fan/heater for about $100. I had to run one more wire from the switch box to the fan but it was fairly easy.
I did the infrared light/heater/fan combo. Te infrared heat just heats you and not the surroundings. I combined that with a dual switch for LiIGHT and FAN and a mechanical timer in another box for HEAT. The FAN has a relay on break timer, so it runs for 15 minutes after it's tuned off. Works great!
I just had my bathroom remodeled and the electrician did not mention this option when he put in my exhaust fan.
