Plumbing backed up pipe to the second floor after plumber out last month to clear lin
We have an old three story home and had clog last month and plumber cleared line and some roots. The plumbing again backed up all the way to the second floor and flooded the first floor and the basement days ago, un benonst to us. Now the second plumber came out again and cleared the line all the way to second floor and said he does not know what the first plumber did but the line was backed all the way up.
Is the first plumber responsible for the damage done to our property by his incomplete job?

Where did the second plumber find the clog, same place as the first plumber? Did either use a camera called a SeeSnake or anything like that? It clearly sounds like to clog is outside of the house and could be all the way out to the city riser at the main. How many feet of snake did they put in, if you know.

I will check with my husband how far he went and if he used the camera

The plumber is not likely responsible for the damages to your home unless something he did caused the backup, such as leaving some equipment in the pipe or breaking the pipe. If he failed to get the drain open you may get your money back for the labor but not damages. It really depends on what plugged the pipe most recently.
