    Ice maker filter
I have a Kenmore side by side refrigerator. The ice maker filter is leaking and I want to know if I can bypass the filter. It has quik connects and the leak is occurring there. The two plastic lines are different sizes coming to the filter. Please advise.

I have Kenmore side by side with ice and water in door too... I don't know why

You want to bypass the filter but you can buy 1/4'" polytube at the hardware

Store long enough for the complete run (very cheap)... You also need (2) new

Tapered plastic ferrules that go on the ends (you can reuse the nuts that

Compress the ferrules on tubing) Do not use brass ferrules -- they will not seal

If the filter is leaking the repair is about as easy as the bypass so why not fix it? Is this an external filter or one that screws into the lowest part of the front panel?
