I have a well, unknown depth and age, we recently stated having light brown water coming out of all faucets. However if we don't use any water for about a day then the water will go clear again.

I had a stretch of about two days of regular water usage and no problems, then It went back to light brown water.

I don't think the problem is directly connected to water usage.

Any suggestions?

Also who would be better suited to assess my problem. A standard plumber? Or a well drilling company. I just want a onsite assessment.

One more thing. I did call one well drilling company, The person I talked to said to hook up a hose to the pressure tank and run it for a few hours.

I am a little nervous to do this considering we have had very little precipitation this year.
