Your local city hall should have archived records.
Some asking around the neighbors, if any have been there long enough.
Check the library, too.
What are you looking for? Anything in particular?

One quick thing you could do is look at the beams from the basement or attic . A lot of homes in the 1930s were mail order homes from Sears or Montgomery Ward(Wardway) catalogues .Then possibly your library could locate a catalogue and you could find the actual model . They would sell kits delivered by rail.

Captn Rich is right that a good starting point is probably archived in the public records at your city hall.
