I have 6 wires to connect. The colors are as follows: W, Y, G, B, O, and R. The thermostat calls for W, G, Y, Rc, and Rh. Where do I plug in the R and what do I do with the B and O? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Is this for a heat pump? If it is you do not have the proper t'stat

No, this isn't for a heat pump. It is for our indoor Heating/AC unit. We are replacing our old analog thermostat with a Honeywell digital thermostat. Once I connect wires hot air blows out not cold air. The temperature drops but not below 80. Do you have any other suggestions? Any help would be wonderful.

Try jumping Rc and Rh to the R. Most likely you will not have to use the B and O for just heat and A/C

I have the G, Y, W and the R is connected to the Rc with a jumper to the Rh. There is no slot for the O and B so I don't know what to do. I believe I have all the colors connected to the right sequence yet I'm not getting cold air. Any other suggestions? I'm getting frustrated with this. I worked on it for 3 hours and still nothing.

O.K. Y is for cooling. R is power from transformer. Jump the R and the Y and see if if you get cooling. Prior to your post when you set T'stat to cooling was the outdoor unit coming on ? Where the heck do you live that it doesn't get below 80 ?

We live in Florida. The outside unit is coming on but inside is blowing hot air.

What kind of unit do you have? I'm guessing you heat is electric. Make sure none of the wires at the stat are touching another. How was the old T'stat wired? Can you confirm that when unit is on cooling that heat is not coming on also?

Also you might disconnect the red wire from RH and see if that eliminates the heat from coming on

Yes, the Heating/AC is an electric unit. None of the wires are touching each other. The old unit is wired by color indication. The old thermo was hooked up with all six wires to each color and the W was connected to W2 and B was connected to X. Should I try the O or the B into the Y? Thank you for your help. Sure sounds to me you have a heat pump and you need a multi-stage stat. Here is normal way it should be wired:
R= power (red)
Y=cooling(yel)
W=heat(white)
O=reversing valve(orange)
G=fan(green)
B=common(blue)
With just heat and cool you just need 4 wires.

You know what esquire1? Thank you! Your information tells me I must have purchased the wrong thermostat. Yep, that must be my problem. I guess I will end up at Lowe's or Home Depot tomorrow morning. Thank you for your help.

esquire1 has given you a good start. Go to the indoor unit and check how the terminals there are labeled. Different units use different labels. You must get the cooling terminal at the thermostat to the cooling terminal at the furnace for it to work right no matter how it is labeled.
