Dear expert,

Can a woman feel anything when the sperm is in the process of fertilizing the egg? Im trying to conceive and today is my probable day of ovulation. I have had sex a couple of times now and will be having it today and a couple of times more to maximise my chances of pregnancy, but I found that I'm experiencing a mild pain below my belly which is similar to PMS... but I have always had this kind of pain only a week before my period.

Unfortunately there is no way to tell when the sperm penetrates the egg (ovum). There are no obvious signs or symptoms that a woman would feel.

Having sex daily or multiple times during the day is actually counterproductive when trying to conceive as it takes the male 24 - 48 hours after ejaculation to build up a decent sperm count.

If you know your ovulation cycle it is beneficial to start having sex a week prior to ovulation as sperm can live in a woman's body for 3 - 5 days, whereas once the egg is released it only has a 24 hour window of opportunity to be viable for fertilization.

Congrats! :) Yes, we are trying to get pregnant... may I know how long have you felt the mild pain? My wife experienced it for a couple of days but she said the strange feeling has been gone today.
