    Breaking lease agreement
My son was living with two other roomates in Hoboken New jersey and signed a lease for a year. He received a job offer in another state and has moved. The other roomates have not been able to get another roommate. He has paid Nov. rent even though he is not living there, but can not continue to pay the other months. What can he do to get out of his lease agreement.

Unless he can find a replacement roommate he obligated to continue to pay rent as per the signed lease. Job offers in another state is not a legal reason to breach a contract.

The landlord doesn't care who makes the payments so he will continue to rightfully expect full payment from the remain two men. They did nothing wrong and your son legally owes his share of the rent until a replacement renter is found. He can't break the lease without paying, that is the purpose of ma lease.
