    Social security garnishing
I have considerable credit card debt debt.
Social Security is my ONLY income.
I have an 11 year old car worth a few thousand.
    A CD worth about 4500.00.
    That's about it.
If I do not pay my bills what can happen.
    Age is 71.

I don't think private collectors like credit card companies can garnish social security checks, but they may issue judgments against you further damaging your credit, but the IRS and the federal government is allowed to garnish your social security money, but since you said your debts are credit cards, I don't think the credit card company is allowed to garnish your social security.
