My ex-wife got the house in a 1998 divorce settlement and I have a recorded lien on the property that started at $50,000 and is now worth $150,000 due to the high rate of court -approved interest. Her house is now worth $600,000 and she has not paid one dime towards this obligation. I am looking for alternative suggestions to get paid.

Wait until she sells or refinances... talk to an attorney about FORECLOSING on your lien on the property - however, this is a long shot and could be costly.

If there is no mortgage on the property, you might be able to foreclose. However, if this amount was part of a court ordered divorce settlement, then go back to the divorce court (or your divorce attorney) and ask the corut to enforce the payment. They could put her in jail for contempt of court for defying a court ordered payment.
