Can you go to jail for having credit card debt for certain credit cards.
I suppose that might be a possibility down the road after all other avenues of the credit card companies getting their money have been explored. But, it's usually not what happens. I personally, have not known someone to go to jail for credit card debt. But, maybe someone else has.
Why do you ask, please?
I'm not an expert on financing or credit card debt. But, I have been in debt with credit cards to the extent that court action was going to take place.
I do have strategies that I used in order to avoid the court action and also lower payments on cards to what I can afford. I may be able to advise you concerning that, if you would share some with me as to why you are asking your question.
Because I receive a subpoena in the mail from one of my credit card companies, they want me to fill out all this information about me, I do not know what to do, do you think I should send it?Quote:

It is a subpeona
Do you think that it is a good idea to file bankrupt
The credit card is with the attorneys office and they will not answer any of my questions until I send the subpoena.
From the court? Was it hand-delivered to you?Quote:

What are the pro and cons of filing bankrupt do you know?
Do you live in the U.S. And if so, what state, please?Quote:

The cons that I can think of would be that you have to pay for the bankruptcy and that your credit for a number of years will be not very good at all.
Some additional questions:
Are you working?
Are you married?
Do you own your own home and automobiles?
Is this subpoena for only one credit card?
