5 month old puppy smells so bad after baths
My puppy dante is 5 months and yes he loves to play outside. I try to give him a bath every 3-4 days with a puppy shampoo but he still smells bad. Is this because he still a puppy coat of hair? His breath has been smelling horrible also? Any suggestions on how 2 keep him happy and smelling good?

Is he rolling in something? Puppies love to do that. Bathing too often is not a good thing either.

If he still has an odor problem just after a bath, likely he has an ear infection. Smell the ears. A vet can quickly clear up the infection. I would see the vet even if it isn't the ears, could be some other infection or problem.

Feed a decent chow, brush regularly, keep the dog from rolling in stinky stuff, and a healthy dog should seldom if ever need a bath. Baths can lead to infected ears or skin problems creating odor problems.

I agree with labman. Check the ears. If his breath smells particularly bad, you need to review what you are feeding him. Are you sticking to a decent chow, or are you giving him "people" food on a regular basis? The people food will create tartar buildup which can lead to stinky breath. It can also cause some digestive upset that leads to bad breath.

You are bathing him too often. Dogs don't need frequent baths. A good brushing every day should be all you need. So, as labman states, I think it is time for a discussion with his vet.
