There was a movie that came out about a group of kids that went on a trip to a church camp, and it started raining. On the way home the river they are crossing is flooded but they try to cross it anyway, and some of the buses are washed down. There are kids that drown and others who are hanging on to the trees. Some make it home, and there are reunions with the families. It might be based on a true story, but I am not for sure.
Please help, if anyone just knows the name of someone in the movie that would help too.

Possibly "Simon Birch" (1998) Based on the book "A Prayer for Owen Meany" by John Irving. Except only one of the kids (Simon) dies.
